KRISTEN QUINNEY PORTER

Kristen Quinney Porter, born and raised in Gonzales, Texas, graduated from Gonzales High School and then from Baylor University in 1992, Cum Laude from the Honors Program, with a BBA in Accounting. In May of 1993 she sat for and passed the Certified Public Accountant Exam. From 1993 to 1996 Mrs. Porter attended Baylor Law School, receiving her Juris Doctorate Degree from Baylor Law School in November of 1996. Kristen began her career in law by interning for Judge Smith, United States District Court, Western District, Texas, while attending Baylor Law School. She was licensed to practice in 1996 and has been with the Firm since 1996. While at Baylor, she was a member of the Harvey M. Richie Moot Court Society.

Kristen is Board Certified-Residential Real Property by the Texas Board of Legal Specializations. She works with large clients to develop residential and commercial subdivisions starting with the initial process of purchasing the property, drafting restrictions and leases, forming homeowner associations, preparing easements, through the sale and closing of lots, ending with the finalization of the subdivision with its close out and transfer of homeowners associations. She works with financial institutions in the financing of the purchase of property and the developmental costs. Her work covers the drafting of mechanics lien and other construction documents; counseling business clients; forming business entities; producing and establishing estate plans, including Wills and Trusts, for clients of all wealth ranges. She handles all matters regarding Estates and Probates, including Court appearances on behalf of clients as well as preparation and handling of Decedent's Estate Tax Return. She also counsels clients on Medicaid laws.
